I'm trying very hard to not be offended by that accusation.
[It's not that Ianthe wasn't being objective, it was that she's compromised by the Void research she started prior to this problem of hers. She simply couldn't see it.]
I just mean, scientifically speaking, it's harder to run an experiment on yourself than it is on a third party. And even that's just a segue into offering to help.
[There was enough raw heat in that thought to betray her current transformation state.]
There are only three fucking things that have been different this month when compared to last: the snow, the Wilk pheromones that weren't affecting me any different than anyone else, and Coronabeth. That's it.
[The laugh that came across was a little unhinged but that's only because Ianthe wasn't bothering to contain it. The thought of her repressing her lust and violence around Coronabeth was fucking hilarious.]
My sister knows exactly what I am, my Lord. She has always known, and she feeds it. No, Coronabeth isn't the issue.
If anything is making me suppress violence it's the fact that despite this fucking place embracing the Resurrection, they still take issue with people dying.
I find town's laws around violence both anaemic and provincial. Not to mention their punishments - when a monster kills, the human must take the time to learn the value of the life they took, as though that would stop the monster the moment they transform again.
[ He just spoke in House's favour and got his sentence pared down after the man's transformed murder spree, so he's particularly unimpressed with the whole system right now. ]
As though any of us actually want to transform. Logically speaking, supposedly understanding the value of a life would lead to more readily expressing lust and violence to keep the beast at bay.
That doesn't help when what we really want is to rip someone apart with our bare hands, tear the flesh away piece by piece and bathe in hot fresh blood, snap bone and suck out marrow, drink in thanergy and repurpose it for something greater than their pathetic little lives. Why should we show restraint when one purposeful death can stop a multitude of pointless collateral ones?
Oh fuuuuck... I need to go pick a fight with your daughter.
[ Oh, fascinating. If it was anyone else involved he'd be asking more questions, but the mention of Kiriona... well, perhaps he doesn't want to get too detailed, actually. She'll be fine, just like he'd be fine. ]
One last question, I promise.
Can you still use necromancy? When you start to transform?
[Ianthe's choice of going to Gideon to pick that fight stemmed from the fact that she'd get a fight back and she wouldn't kill her (if it turned from a fight into sex all the better). Anyone else, John and Harrow aside, Ianthe wasn't sure she would stop herself from going too far.]
No, I'm not. Harrowhark has, just not this far. She's fine now.
What's fucking annoying to me, from an academic standpoint, is that I can't feel the physical changes when they happen. I need to see either my reflection or look at my hair to tell there are alterations. Even while digesting my cavalier, I could still feel the eyes.
The teeth I feel. The eyes and hair, I don't, but those two are earlier stages and gradual. The teeth are jarring. I've not gone beyond that, and I won't if I have any say in the matter.
Then again, I'm currently beyond the standard deviation, so who fucking knows.

Of course, I can. Why wouldn't I?

[ "Us" being the necromancers. ]

I'd give my left arm for an actual lab. With an MRI, and observation room.
