It has. No doubt, we'll both receive some pushback or resentment at some point.

[ Not that he cares. Zlatka chose him and what anyone else thinks is irrelevant. But he's prepared. ]

The dead can be, too, but spirits have a better excuse. Do you have a plan of action for when the first start getting uppity? I've always favored the gilded fist approach; my sister's always been better at politics.

If it's harmless complaining, I'll be the bigger person and ignore it. Some people see me as an aspiring tyrant already and I refuse to validate them.

If it goes beyond that, I find the best course of action is to make sure I come out looking like the more reasonable person from an outsider's perspective, whether we end up exchanging words or punches.

[ Winning or losing any individual conflict pales in comparison to making his opponent look like an unhinged maniac that can't be trusted. ]

Never throw the first punch. Works like a charm if they're easy to bait. Some people here really are.

[ That's where Terry always deviated from the strike first, strike hard, no mercy mantra of Cobra Kai. Sometimes letting them strike first was far more merciless. ]

Not by name, but that doesn't mean I haven't spoken to him. I've had a lot of inquiries from newer void-touched. I don't always get names.

He's from my world. Shorter guy. Very self-righteous. Big brown eyes like a sad baby deer.

He's a hothead but his old master taught him some next-level self control. If you ever get him to strike first I'll find the best drink I can get and split it with you.

[Ianthe did like a challenge. She really did, but she also had better things to do. BUT she could conceivably sic Cesare on him. If anyone would be an entertaining sacrificial lamb, it was him.]

He was smitten with me once, but Danny boy's about as repressed as they come. He loathes me now. I'm fond of him in my own way.

I'd appreciate a head's up if he ever ends up in your care, too. He'll need someone to tend to him when he comes back.
