Upon reaching age six, it became apparent that Ianthe's older twin sister, Coronabeth, did not have any necromantic ability. Because of this, Ianthe had to become enough of a necromancer for both of them to continue the illusion their father had crafted of them both being adepts. To preserve this lie, the twins were homeschooled and much of Ianthe's life now became about covering for Coronabeth's deficiencies instead of celebrating her own growing genius.Saint of Awe
Upon being summoned by the Emperor to Canaan House to compete against the other House scions to become a lyctor, Ianthe reverse engineered the mega-theorem necessary to achieve Lyctorhood. Killing her own Cavalier, Naberius Tern, in order to consume his soul was a necessary part of the process, and Ianthe didn't hesitate to murder him, demonstrating the lengths she was willing to go for power. She was the first of the postulants to do so, revealing Coronabeth's lie, and allowing Ianthe to finally step into the spotlight.Labotomies & Love
After becoming a Lyctor, Harrowhark came to Ianthe to help her perform brain surgery on herself that altered her memories of Gideon Nav. In the course of this event, Ianthe became subject to the Vow of the Sewn Tongue by Harrow which magically prevents her from speaking of what Harrow did to herself without doing some hardcore self-surgery to replace the ensorcelled body parts . This was also when she obtained the Favor of the Chain from Harrowhark which will allows her to call upon Harrow for anything she wants to repay the debt owed. It supersedes any other debt Harrow may owe another, including the Emperor. This deep entanglement and connection brought about Ianthe's desire to eventually marry Harrowhark.God's Salvation
When betrayal inevitably happened to the Emperor by two of his original lyctors, the Emperor was on the edge of death as he struggled against one of the betrayers. Ianthe made the choice to save the Emperor and let the betrayer die insteaad. Not only did this choice uphold the oath of fealty she'd just sworn to the Emperor, it put him in her debt and secured her a much, much better spot at his side in her ever continual climb for power.
A mostly featureless female form of blackened semi-coagulated blood over a golden skeleton with blue eyes bearing glowing golden flecks.
The Mimic slowly takes on the physical form of the person in front of it, reproducing powers used on it and even the person's voice. It seeks to get close and touch the person's face, sending an inky substance into orifices, revealing its skeleton in the process. It will also expose skeleton while sending thin line of blackness along ground/across walls to then crawl up legs seeking entrance.
Once penetrated, victims are immediately thrust psychically into quick, intense, mid-fuck sex with an undetermined 'entity' that can fluctuate between male/female and posseses any sexual organs needed until victim orgasms. The victim then finds themselves standing where they had been, an unknown amount of time passed, exhausted, and leaking an inky cum-like substance from where the Mimic entered the victim. It is capable of engaging multiple victims at a time though it can only take on one duplicate form at a time.
The Mimic is indestructible except when taking on the form of another. Only then can that specific person kill it making them essentially kill themselves. In seeking an identity, the Mimic becomes vulnerable. While transformed, Ianthe has no access to her own necromancy.
Victim was killed on July 7th at [time], though the body was discovered and turned over to the morgue at [time: approximately two hours later]. The body suffered multiple repeated stab wounds to the torso. The forearms also sustained defensive wounds and skin cells were recovered from underneath the body's fingernails, indicating the victim scratched her assailant during the assault. The wounds themselves were delivered quickly and deep, without any intentional focus on a major artery given the wound pattern. The resultant wounds caused hemorrhagic shock and death.
Skin cells underneath the victim's nails match those of the suspect. The thanergetic link between victim and assailant was still present at the time the body was turned over to the morgue, connecting the victim to the suspect. This necromantically confirmed that the suspect was the one to take the life of the victim. The manner of assault and resultant wounds do not indicate malice aforethought (Crime of the Mind) and are consistent with a crime of passion or uncontrolled venting of zadza (Crime of the Stomach).
